JUSTICE NETWORK EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION COVERAGE THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH HEARST, TRIBUNE, MEDIA GENERAL, GRAY AND UNIVISION
Major Broadcast Groups Distribute Justice’s Unique Mix of Entertainment and Societal Mission in their Communities
Atlanta, GA – August 8, 2016 – Justice Network, an over-the-air broadcast television network, announced today that it has signed agreements with major broadcasters, including Hearst, Tribune, Media General, Gray and Univision as well as many other individual stations. These outstanding broadcasters join TEGNA in distributing Justice Network and its unique mission to make communities safer while also providing quality entertainment.
These new partnerships increase the footprint of the 18-month-old broadcast network to 66 million homes and 65 affiliates doubling its distribution since the launch of the network.
“We are pleased to partner with more than half a dozen of the industry’s most respected broadcasters as we continue to strategically grow Justice Network’s footprint,” says Barry Wallach, Head of Distribution for Justice Network. “Working with leading market stations from many of the most respected group owners including TEGNA, Hearst, Tribune, Media General, Gray, Univision and others increases the availability of the Justice Network in major markets through robust, over-the-air signals and near ubiquitous retransmission over cable and telecom platforms.”
Justice Network launched in January 2015 across the entire TEGNA footprint, representing nearly a third of the U.S., and features crime and mystery programming coupled with BeSAFE, the network’s unique safety initiative led by iconic crime-fighter and network spokesperson John Walsh. After being on the air for just over a year and a half, Justice has featured 65 fugitives that have been captured and 52 children who have been returned to their families.
“It is very gratifying to see many of the top broadcasters in the industry appreciating the value of the Justice Network as both a provider of quality entertainment and a platform to help make American families safer through BeSAFE,” said Steve Schiffman, CEO of the Justice Network. “We feel that we are truly making a difference in all our local communities across the country and with the increased distribution, it only reinforces this mission.”
The Justice Network can now be seen in 24 of the Top 30 markets including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington DC, Atlanta, Houston, Phoenix, Seattle, Miami, Indianapolis, and Hartford along with West Palm Beach, home of spokesperson John Walsh, and Albuquerque, birthplace of Crime Stoppers, one of Justice’s key community partners.
